Digital Africa – Innovation Changes Minds

Science 52' 2018 HD

"Digital Africa" is a documentary journey that is turning the old-fashioned picture of Africa. It's a trip through a continent with glass-fiber internet access and a creative start-up scene that comes up with technical ideas, useful across the world. The film accompanies Geraldine de Bastion (re:publica curator and founder of Global Innovation Gathering) on a journey to Kenya, Rwanda and Ghana. She discovers digital inventions and innovations, meets creators and pioneers, and experiences the application fields of new developments: Tablets for schools, a solar-powered mobile kiosk, a blockchain application used for hospitals, or drone used for agriculture.
