Buffalo Bill – The Inventor of the Wild West

History 52' or 88' 2024 HD

The American pioneer era, better known as the Wild West, has been romanticized in countless novels and films. But the Wild West as we know it was invented and staged by adventurer and showman William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, a self-made man who went from being an insignificant bison hunter to the most famous American of his time. Some adventures staged in his show "Buffalo Bill's Wild West" he had experienced himself, others were fictitious. Cody skillfully blurred the boundaries between truth and fiction. His version of the Wild West, which he also brought to Europe at the end of the 19th century, only showed a small part of the true story and largely concealed the atrocities of the American pioneer era. William "Buffalo Bill" Cody became the first superstar, the founder of modern show business and is considered by many to be the inventor of the Wild West.
