Eco Crimes

Mission Earth, Science 3 x 50' 2024 HD

Organized crime has expanded into a new area that experts consider just as serious as arms and drug trafficking: "Eco Crimes" – crimes against the environment. These involve illegal dealings with climate-damaging refrigerants, pirate fishermen targeting fish stocks in the world's oceans, and poaching of the last remaining tigers, which has driven the big cats to the brink of extinction. However, there is also good news. Investigators and environmental activists around the world are on the trail of eco-criminals, achieving impressive successes: they are busting smugglers, thwarting the raids of illegal fishermen, and have helped more than double the number of tigers in India.
